What Dr. Plank Loves Most About Being An Optometrist
We recently asked Dr. Plank a few questions about his career. Here are his answers. We thought you’d find them interesting!
How old were you when you decided to become an optometrist? What circumstances helped you decide?
“I became interested in vision at approximately 5 years of age, when I began to understand that my grandparent developed blindness from a probable stroke.”
Where did you attend school and how long have you been practicing?
“I attended Missouri State for undergraduate studies, University of Missouri of Optometry School. I have been in practice for twenty years.”
What advice would you give to someone who is considering a career in Optometry?
“It requires a lot of studying as it’s a four year program after college, but it’s a fantastic profession.”
What is one thing you find most satisfying and fulfilling about being an optometrist?
“It is rewarding to help others maintain good eye health and good eyesight!”
